Innocence.

We knew vampires have no souls, but until this episode we have never really seen it. Okay, there is Spike, also the Master and good old insane Dru and some other vamps we got to know. But we will never know how they would act if they had their souls. So Angel/Angelus situation is a bit different. After Angel slept with Buffy he totally changed. First, visually. I only say one word: leather pants. Second, the whole attitude. He got rid of his conscience and being the former Scourge of Europe, he intends to be evil. Pure evil. Aesthetically cool evil. The evil with the good lines and smart moves. And he's perfect at it!

The hightlights are without doubt the scenes between Buffy and Angel. In his apartement, where he's giving the role of the bad ass boyfriend. "I call you." When he's leaving the apartement, shutting the door behind him - wouldn't this be a "yay" scene if it weren't so sad? And the revenge of the woman, Buffy's very hurtful *ouch* move in the Mall. You may miss Angel. I did in the beginning. But you have to admit, Angelus is way cooler than Angel ever was until that point. His reunion with Dru and Spike is such a fun to watch and the whole episode is so very emotionally touching - you have to like Angelus. He may be a mean ass, he may be violent and deadly, he may drain you, but wouldn't you like it?
